I have had acute abdominal pains throughout my life, but about two or three years ago it became so bad I stopped eating as I became so ill every time I ate, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches. I think my husband thought I was dying !
I rapidly lost three stone in weight and I was rapidly losing more. I was off work for six months and close to losing my job if I didn’t retun. I had numerous visits to the doctor and hospitals and then while reading a friend’s health food magazine, there was an article on lactose intollerance. They were doing intolerance tests that week at my local health food store and thats when I found out I was lactose intolerant.
It changed my life. As soon as I cut lactose products from my diet, I felt great. I wasn’t tired all the time or spending all my time in bed sick. It took a bit of getting used to when shopping for food as a lot of shops in my local area have their lactose-free ranges all over the store not just in one place, but now I’m used to it.
This site has helped alot, especially the restaurant finder, as it can be embarrassing speaking to the chef asking him or her all sorts of questions about exactly what is in their food, some don’t really know!
It fells so great not having pain every day and sickness.
