We Love Yogurt!
Here at Lactofree we love hearing how our products have helped you to live with lactose intolerance, but this story really takes the… yogurt?
Sent in by Pamela, we were thrilled to read this truly poetic account of what something as simple as a lactose free yogurt can mean to you…
Pamela’s Living Lactose Free Drama!
She had been ill for about 10 years and had developed lactose intolerance. Lots of antibiotics had wiped out her system and the yogurt she ate for breakfast, which she thought would provide the ‘friendly bacteria’ missing from her gut, made her feel just awful. Isolating the problem was difficult at first, but leaving out milk for two weeks was a fantastic idea when she no longer felt the side effects of lactose intolerance.
However, what would she have for breakfast now? Lactofree dairy drink came to the rescue…. Yay! Cereal was back on the menu.
However, she couldn’t leave behind her love for yogurt. Yogurt on her muesli, yogurt all mixed up with fruits and nuts, yogurt just as yogurt.
She visited every supermarket in the area, checking to see if lactose free yogurt had arrived. She even got her local shop to stock Lactofree dairy drink and it was a great hit. However, no lactose free yogurt.
Last week, everything changed. There, shining like a lighthouse in a storm sea, was a four carton pack of Lactofree strawberry and raspberry yogurt! She was amazed, standing still for a whole minute before lunging forwards to stake her claim.
Half an hour later, back at home with spoon in hand she cautiously peeled back the lid. Inside the yogurt gleamed back at her. Could this be real? Spooning the yogurt up to her mouth, she could see the thick texture. She tasted it and found that it was indeed yogurt – pure, proper, thick and creamy original yogurt.
Two hours later, she rushed back to the store to buy up the remaining four Lactofree yogurts!
