Milk Guzzling Children Live Longer
New research funded by health charities suggests that children who consume lots of milk and cheese may live longer.
Researchers from Bristol University and the Queensland Institute of Medical Research investigated links between dairy consumption during childhood and mortality within a survey of diet and health in pre-war Britain. They found that dairy-rich diets in childhood do not contribute to heart problems in later life and that they can in fact decrease the risk of strokes.
Overall, the study concluded that children with a high calcium intake and dairy product consumption were found to live longer into old age.
