Julia, we’re sorry to hear you’re having problems purchasing the portion packs. The transactions are being dealt with by Paypal, who list all the cards they accept beneath the ‘Buy Now’ button, including Visa. We’ve tested it for you and hopefully if you try again, entering all the details required, it will work.

I'm with Ann Robson. I cannot justify buying 100 packs with such a short shelf life. I will however take a look at the stock in Asda 15 miles away.

I understand that this is all brand new but at £6-50 a litre, I think that is a bit of a stretch including the short shelf life!!!!!!!!

thanks lactofree :) this is a brilliant idea (especially for me, as i live in a little island in the english channel that only has one shop that sells Lactofree) now i can have a cup of tea whenever i want :)

My 4 yr old is lactose intolerant and these would be ideal for when we go away, but as others have said that’s a huge amount of money for something that will go off before I use it. Come on, your a big enough company, work it out!

Great idea, but 100 is too many to buy at once when they will go off before using all of them, couldn’t you reduce the pack size to either 25 or 50x We have no local Asda stocking them either :(

I’m disappointed! When I saw these advertised on the milk carton I thought they were individual drinks – around 150/200ml. My daughter is starting school soon and I thought she could take them with her, but they’re not! :( Would really like to see cartons which are the right size to take out for children to have a proper drink.

Brilliant idea. I did initially worry about buying so many up-front (especially given the relatively short sell-by-date) but am half way through the box already!

Fantatic – just what I’ve been waiting for. Very pleased.

Completely agree with Sarah Wood’s comment above, I’m still hoping for some 200ml-ish cartons for cereal/drinks when away from home- I think these small portions are a great idea as well and look forward to seeing both on sale near me soon (please!!)

I've just come back from holiday and it was great to be able to take the portion packs with me. It saved me from having to drink black tea and coffee all the time. 100 at one go is really too many and I'm having to open them up and empty them so that I can get them used up before the use by date - it seems to be a very short shelf life. It is also a very costly way to buy them as the recommended price on the box is much less than the purchase price on the internet. As a one off it has worked for me but at that price I don't think I would buy online again. The individual drinks carton idea is a good one. The sooner these items are in the shops more generally, the better.

Thanks to everyone for the comments - please keep them coming. The portion packs are still in the very early trial stages, and we appreciate all your comments. Amber, we're very glad to hear that the portion packs got to travel with you! The next batch of portion packs will have a 3 month shelf life. The online price is the same as the RRP, but with the additional cost of shipping. Dave, we understand your frustration, but as with any new product, we first have to trial it. It is a long process to get a supermarket to stock a new product, we are working on it continuously and appreciate your patience. We have recorded all your feedback and would love to chat to you more, please email us on lactofree@outsideline.co.uk.

Hello Lactofree-Team, I am actually as disappointed as the most of your customers. The packets are quite expensive, but…may I would by them, if the got a 3 month used-by-date. But I am more disappointed with your whole range of Lactofree products! I am original from Germany and the company where I used to get my Lactofree Products from ogt even a 0,5l “mini Milk pack” which I found very helpfull! But the also got 15 (yes, 15!!) kinds of cheese to choose from! And lots of other products! Hopefully you can give that service one day to your customers as well! The Company is called MinusL from %(=caps)OMIRA%, check it out http://www.minusl.de/media/0000000192.pdf . that an english product information letter! May you could work with them togetherx! Best Regards Fee

Seeing as thought Lacto free produce a long life milk why can’this be availbale in portion packsx Portion packs are ideal for traveling, however this is not the sort of product that i would have a daily need for. I think if it was produced with a long life milk it would be much better. I also agree with Sarah Wood that an actual carton size milk drink would be a brilliant idea.

I think that these are a good idea for a coffee and going to places etc. but for cereals you’d have to use alot of the little packs(not purchased them yet so if anyone disagrees or knows how many to use for a cereal please just post something for me). Im a student with a busy scedual and i love cereal and I can only have the laco free milk for 3 days because it stinks and has gone off after 3 days and a whole litre of it is never fully used im sick of wasting money buy having to buy 2 huge litres every week because after 3 days its gone off. If Aria made half a litre packages id be able to buy them and not waste all the excess milk. We are all suppose to be helping the environment and using things efficiently I hate wasting the milk but it is gone off before i can fully use it in sauces etc. I started freezing the excess in ice cube bags – still have to test them out in a coffee :) but it would be awesome to try a half litre package for a short while like they’ve done with these mini 20ml packs id deffo buy them – would anyone elsex

Hi Mimi-Lou - the Lactofree portion packs are made with long life milk. As per all your comments, all new packs now have a 3 month shelf life! Hi Kathryn, have you tried decanting half of the litre of Lactofree and freezing itx It is perfectly safe to freeze as long as you decant it into a sturdier container. Unfortunately we don't have immediate plans to produce a half litre version, but we will pass on your suggestions to the development team.

Thank you to everyone who has ordered the second batch of portion packs already. Apologies for the slight delay, but we wanted to ensure that you received the latest batch, with the longest shelf life. These have arrived and will be shipped from next week.

Fee, Thanks for the link to the Minus-L German lacto free product sheet. WOW - such a good range. Lactofree, I agree with Fee, can you not work with your German counterparts and extend your rangex Or import and relabelx Ice-cream, desserts, plenty of different cheeses, a bigger range of yogurt flavours and even a chilled coffee drink "starbucks" style! Come on Lactofree, it shows what can be done! Can you work on a cream pleasex We can then make lactofree ice cream, pour over desserts and use in cooking. Thanks

I was really excited when I first saw this as I thought they would be cereal sized! I don’t think I would purchase 100 tea and coffee sized, if they were available in smaller sized packs I would probably buy them. I think a cereal sized portion would be a much better idea.

Can you freeze the portion packsx

Lactofree Support’s Avatar

Lactofree Support

Hi Laura, Unfortunately we don't recommend freezing the portion packs as the milk expands when frozen and this could tear the packaging. Our other dairy drink products can be frozen, simply decant the amount you want to freeze and seal in a sturdy container.

The portion sizes sound great but what about handy long life portions for children cups and bottles that can be taken away on holiday, that would be fantastic.
