Dairy and the City
If you’ve seen the Lactofree Dairy Dilemma, you may have noticed its salute to Sex and the City, taking the lives of four friends all experiencing different relationships with dairy.
To celebrate the release of Sex and the City 2 this Friday, which is no doubt set to entail even more broken relationships and fabulous fashion, we’re looking at the style used by fashion illustrator Niki Pilkington to create the Lactofree Dairy Dilemma.
The main character of the Dairy Dilemma, who is taking hold of her life and taking control of her lactose intolerance, is actually modelled on Niki herself with her trademark blunt fringe, coupled with Carrie-esque gold jewellery and brightly coloured wardrobe. The friend denying herself the pleasure of dairy by avoiding it all together, is wearing this season’s bold prints, from her heart print t-shirt to her polka dot backless dress while dreaming of the perfect dairy latte. While the friend who’s settling for second best with soya stands out in strong prints with bold colours, teamed with an on-trend high-waisted belt, but unfortunately she wishes her diet was as exciting as her wardrobe!
