Our Ancestors Had Lactose Intolerance
According to a genetic study by University College of London, it’s quite possible that over half of the Neolithic central European population was lactose intolerant 5,000 years ago.
These findings indicate that the ability to digest lactose probably resulted from the advent of dairy farming, which would mean that lactose tolerance actually evolved after lactose intolerance.
So, now we know that lactose intolerance is much more common than we may think!
