Don’t be a Damson in Distress!
No need to worry about summer drawing to a close because it’s time for lots of delicious autumnal fruits and we want to share our lactose free ways for you to enjoy them!
Damsons and plums are plentiful and Team Lactofree’s favourite treat at the moment is a comforting bowl of warm Baked Rice Pudding with Brown Sugared Plums. This nostalgic recipe provides the goodness of calcium as well as providing one of your 5 a day. It’s low in fat and although sugar is added, some of the sweetness comes from the sugars naturally present in the plums.
Blackberries are also plump and prime picking this month. A gorgeously refreshing way to start your September mornings is to add blackberries to lactose free strawberry or raspberry yogurt with our Tutti Fruitti Smoothie. And if you fancy a spot of baking, fresh blackberries are fabulous in Muffins, with Pancakes or on top of Baked Cheesecake.
