Club Lactofree Launch Event
Last night’s launch event for Club Lactofree was a fantastically cheesy success!
A number of the many passionate community members of Lactofree.co.uk joined together in Central London to raise their glasses to the new Lactofree Cheese, which we’re happy to reveal, tastes delicious…
Jean Taylor, of Penge, said: ‘The new cheese tastes great and could appear on any table or be used in any recipe without anyone realising it is “different” from any other cheese. The texture and appearance are really good, I look forward to finding them in the shops and will definitely be buying the cheese – especially the soft cheese when it arrives in February!’
Ricki Maurici, of Wimbledon, said: ‘I enjoyed it very much, what a great event! I thought the cheese tasted great, and I couldn’t really notice any difference to normal hard cheese. It went very well with the lactose free crackers and dips provided – I tried a little of everything!’
Clare Tuck, of Islington, said: ‘Thanks very much for a lovely evening and for the doggy bag! I tried the cheese out at home – very good actually, grates well, melts well – really nice flavour. I look forward to seeing it in the supermarkets.’
Matt Carrington-Moore, of Kent, said: ‘It was great to discover that (like Lactofree milk) the omission of lactose from the cheese has not compromised the taste at all! The cheese was very refreshing, similar to Edam, with a very enjoyable aftertaste. Lactofree and Arla have yet again created another fantastic product that will help my girlfriend and I to broaden our diet a little bit more. Lactofree cheese will no doubt be a regular feature in our fridge!’
The Lactofree mild cheddar will be on sale from 2nd January 2009 and the Lactofree soft cheese is planned for February.

Why is that stores introduce these products and then do not restock just a few weeks later.

Re: Club Lactofree Launch Event – paul cathcart
Its great that you have set up this site. Not being able to have lactose causes our daughter to miss out on so many things, mainly her favourite, CHEESE!!! Look forward to that. A nice tasting butter would be fantastic. I try to cook her the same food as everyone else using stuff she is aloud but some thing dont seem to work. For one, cheese sauce without the cheese never tastes quite the same does it! %(=caps)LOL%... Keep up the good work. Thanks…

Re: Club Lactofree Launch Event – Shyam
Still not available in central london – well at least not in Tesco’s covent garden or at my local Sainsbury’s on Waterloo Road. I even went to more ‘local’ Tesco’s throughout central London and the super large one in Picadilly Circus – hopeless :-( i miss cheese and i can’t have soy!!!

Re: Club Lactofree Launch Event – Lactofree Support
I’m afraid we have no control over which branches of the major stores our products are stocked in. To make your local supermarket aware of demand for Lactofree products you can fill out a stockist request form here: http://www.lactofree.co.uk/what-is-lactofree/stockists/request/ And to confirm, Lactofree products are real dairy products simply with the lactose gently removed, therefore they do not contain gluten or wheat.

Re: Club Lactofree Launch Event – Lactofree Support
Samantha, I’m afraid that as our cheese and yogurt both contain milk, your son will have to wait just two more months before he can enjoy the whole Lactofree range! For more information on lactose intolerance in children, please visit our children’s page: http://www.lactofree.co.uk/child-elimination-diet/
