Lactofree "buttermilk"
The woman behind the clever lactose intolerance blog “When Dairy is Not Your Friend” has discovered heaps of ways to recreate your favourite dairy treats using lactose free milk like Lactofree and some smart substitutes.
She writes: “I’d heard many times before that if you don’t have buttermilk, that you can add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to milk and it will work out just the same. I thought, in theory, that means I could use my lactose-free milk and vinegar, and then I’d be able to make things with buttermilk that I couldn’t have before…”
