KERRY KATONA MORE IRRITATING THAN JAMES BLUNT IN UK’S INTOLERANCE STAKES
18th December 2007
Beleaguered Kerry Katona is more annoying than James Blunt, middle lane drivers, the smoking ban and novelty ring-tones, say findings from a UK intolerance survey.
The 27-year-old former Atomic Kitten singer and pregnant mother-of-three fell out of favour with the 2,000 Brits who put her eighth in a poll of the nation’s biggest pet hates.
The research, commissioned by Lactofree, tops a miserable year for Kerry following her messy divorce with Westlife singer Bryan McFadden, an armed robbery at her plush Cheshire mansion and the recent criticism of her rambling interview on GMTV.
People’s number one hate was cold callers, followed by tailgaters and queue jumpers. Slow internet connections came fourth while middle lane drivers were fifth.
The top ten of the 100 most intolerable things are revealed as:
- Cold Callers
- Tailgaters
- Queue jumpers
- Slow internet connections
- Drivers who sit in the outside lane doing 50mph
- People reading over your shoulder
- Stepping in dog poo
- Kerry Katona
- Brownnosers
- Dog owners who don’t clean up after their dog
James Blunt may not have topped the irritation poll as much as he did last year, but he is still seen to infuriate the British nation more than Jade Goody (32) Carol Vorderman (48) Russell Brand (53) and Victoria Beckham (54).
The recent postal strikes also sent Royal Mail soaring up the list as the 35th most annoying thing, ahead of diarrhoea and even the dreaded traffic warden.
Others to make the list include Americans at number 49, trying to find the end of the Sellotape at 57, Jim Davidson was number 79, embarrassing wind was at number 80, Amy Winehouse was 82 followed by Scientology and blokes in flip flops made it into number 94. Running out of petrol was number 99.
David Cherrie, spokesperson for Lactofree commented: “It is always the little things that we cannot change or control which annoys us the most, which gives us Brits the perfect excuse for a bit of a moan! Yet, when it comes to those never ending health issues that bug us just as much, there is a cure – such as looking into whether we suffer from food intolerances. That we can help with!
A staggering 80 per cent of Brits admit they often get wound up by the little things with 67 per cent saying their frustration sometimes causes them to lash out.
More than one in five Brits have even been in a dangerous situation because they have been so distracted by an irritation.
But the poll found that while women are more likely to be annoyed with something small, men are most likely to boil over and vent their frustration.
