Eliminating the Confusion over Lactose and Dairy Intolerance

Lactofree Satellite Symposium at the British Dietetic Association Annunal Conference.
Wednesday 16 September 2009: 11:00 – 11:45. Parallel in Lecture Theatre F14.
Presented by Dr Trish MacNair MBChB, MA.

After qualifying as a doctor at the University of Bristol in 1982, Trisha worked for several years in a variety of specialities within hospital medicine, before rekindling an early interest in writing and radio. For the past 17 years she has worked as a freelance medical journalist, writing, reporting and presenting on health for the BBC, contributing to national newspapers and magazines, and writing a number of books. In 2001 Trisha completed an MA in Medical Ethics and Medical Law at King’s College, University of London.

In 2005, after a long spell out of clinical work to write and to raise a family, Trisha returned to the hospital wards. She is currently a Hospital Physician working part-time in Medicine for the Elderly, for Surrey PCT at Milford Hospital near Guildford, Surrey, UK, and consults for the Lactofree Advisory Board.

Join Trish for an in-depth discussion on the confusion surrounding lactose and dairy intolerance, and take a closer look at best practice for diagnosing and managing lactose intolerance across specific patient groups.
