Before being diagnosed with lactose intolerance, I was suffering from an abundance of symptoms. I often felt fatigued, I was bloated and my skin was covered in rashes and I had lots of facial spots. I also suffered from severe abdominal pains, which I was hospitalised with on one particularly bad occasion. This is what led to my diagnosis of lactose intolerance.
The tiredness caused by my condition meant that I couldn’t comfortably do as much as my friends. I needed lots of sleep, meaning there was less time for activities and socialising. As a teenage girl, I was also very aware of the spots that my condition was causing.
I discovered Lactofree when I saw it on the shelf in my local supermarket, and decided to give it a go. I was missing my favourite foods, such as porridge and cheese sauce, and the fact that I am also wheat intolerant further limited what I could eat.
