My son Ollie was a very sickly baby.

My gorgeous Ollie was born a healthy 9lb 1oz. He ate well and loved his milk, but he was often sick. We took him to the doctor on a couple of occasions but I felt a bit like a neurotic mother so decided to see if he would grow out of it.
At six months old, things hadn’t improved but as Ollie was growing and gaining weight the doctors didn’t want to do anything. It was only on my insistence that something wasn’t right that we were referred to the hospital.
As I suspected, Ollie was diagnosed with lactose intolerance at seven months, and we immediately changed him over to soya milk and yogurts which did the trick. Then as Ollie got older, we wanted him to try varied foods, but of course milk based products were out of the question, so when we saw Lactofree were bringing out soft and hard cheese, it really was a eureka moment!
I try to cook as much of Ollie’s food from scratch as possible and the Lactofree cheese has revolutionised how we cook and eat. So much so that both my partner and I use Lactofree too.
It’s great for cheesy mash and macaroni cheese and we made the most gorgeous cheesecake the other day. We love Lactofree yogurt too – the range is so innovative and we cant get enough of it.
Ollie is now one and he’s absolutely thriving. He is constantly happy and is now crawling. His development has changed dramatically thanks to the lactose intolerance diagnosis and the inclusion of Lactofree to his diet. Ollie’s favourite is cheese on toast and he loves crackers with soft cheese – all made possible by Arla – terrific!

Hi my daughter was also very sicky as a baby and would catch everything going at 6 months old she spent some time in and out of hospital eventually we discovered that she was lactose intolerent and changed her diet completly. This had an amazing affect on her and changed all our lives for the better as she was more content and in better health. She is now 8 and we have tried at times to re introduce dairy but each time she has became ill again. As your child becomes older you will discover that so many things contain milk ie crisps ,antibiotics , ketchup and also most steriod inhalers but with careful searching we have found some brands that we can use as they don't contain lactose as the carrier. I hope that Ollie grows to be as happy and as able to deal with this as my daughter Jasmine has. We are really proud of the way she copes with it and does not let it rule her life she enjoys going to her friends for tea and they enjoy trying all her soya products and alternatives that she takes with her. So good to haer others who have the same thing as we have always been told that it is very rare for anyone to be born with this and at times felt very let down and unsupported by the super markets and health care services. Thank goodness for Arla. Becky from west sussex

My son was also a sick baby always bringing up his milk. Even in the first 13 days when i breastfed him he was really sick (I drank loads of milk). I now look back and think this was his lactose intolerance. between 6-12months he was on soya milk to try and help his exczema then he went back onto dairy when he was 1. We have only discovered his lactose intolerance in the last year so he was 3 years when we found out. He doesn't eat a huge diet - most of his food is dairy so I'm hoping to try and find the lactofree yoghurts and cheese locally. I do thik his lack of eating though is due to experiencing so much pain over the last few years.
