When my son Alfie was born we spent ten agonizing weeks trying to discover the cause of his extreme sickness and diarrhoea.

Doctors assured us that his tests were negative and that Alfie simply wanted comforting, but his constant pain made me determined to find answers.
Only when I broke down in front of a health visitor were his symptoms seriously assessed and they finally suggested that Alfie had a intolerance to lactose. Returning to the same doctor who had previously told me I couldn’t cope, I demanded a lactose free milk formula. Within one day, Alfie was a different baby.
Alfie now has a healthy lifestyle snacking freely on fruit and vegetables – nothing is off the menu!
I’ve educated myself through the Internet about lactose intolerance in order to provide detailed information to his nursery who were unfamiliar with his condition. There is a great need for better education, understanding and public awareness of lactose intolerance.
The introduction of Lactofree to supermarkets was fabulous for us as a family because Alfie never sees a difference and your new cheese is a godsend! Lactofree is doing so much for my son to enable him to be “normal” and I hope that you can continue with your research and development.
Alfie now has a little baby brother, Toby, who is also lactose intolerant and I hope by the time he is older there will be more awareness and even more lactose free alternatives available.
