While studying for my degree at university I became very ill and was in bed for weeks at a time.

The doctors couldn’t diagnose me with anything. I had several visits to hospital and several tests including a colonoscopy which also revealed nothing. The doctors then told me it was IBS and prescribed me with tablets. I continued to suffer and spent weeks at a time in bed doubled up in pain and unable to live my life and carry on with my degree. I missed lectures, then missed exams and it started to get me down. After six months, I decided to get food allergy tests and discovered that I was lactose intolerant and also intolerant to a number of other foods.
Now that I’ve cut certain foods out of my diet and have started to buy Lactofree products, I’ve improved but I still find it very difficult because my intolerances mean that all the foods i used to enjoy I can no longer have. Going out for meals with friends is a nightmare too! If you are suffering from bloating, nausea and severe stomach cramps and if you find that you also have no energy then I would advise you to go to a local health shop or doctors and get yourself tested for food allergies. It has improved my life no end!
