My son and I love Lactofree!

As a child, I was always painfully thin and as I grew into adulthood I remained slim but had a ‘pot belly’ and always suffered with wind – joking that I was my father’s daughter!
In my late 20’s, I noticed that I was constantly bloated, always uncomfortable and the wind was beyond a joke. After many attempts at cutting dairy from my diet, I decided to splash out on a blood test which confirmed that I was indeed intolerant to lactose.
I now have an 18 month old son. He was breastfed and because of my lactose-reduced diet he was never really exposed to dairy at an early age but by the time he was on formula/whole milk/cheese/yogurts etc, we started noticing very bad wind, he woke during the night crying and screaming pulling his legs up and tensing up, and he had a big belly – so much so that my dad used to call him Fat Belly Jones!
I then read that lactose intolerance can be hereditary so we cut out dairy from his diet with instant results. We’ve been told that he will grow out of it (please God!) but I can say that the launch of Lactofree Whole came at just the right time, otherwise I don’t know what I would have done – how would I have got an 18 month old to accept soya or rice milk?!
We both love fruit yogurts and we can’t wait to try the cheese.
Thank you Lactofree!
