I'm 26 and have been struggling with stomach pains for 10 years

I'm 26 and have been struggling with stomach pains for 10 years

I had two very stressful colonoscopies to try to find out what the problem was but I remained in constant pain and felt unable to live a normal life. I had to take a lot of time off work which took me to the end of my tether so I went back to the doctors, yet again. I was referred to a new doctor and when I explained the whole story, her answer was simple: “Stop drinking milk!”

I was confused and somewhat bewildered by the idea that milk was causing me all the grief and pain, but I reluctantly agreed to remove milk from my diet. I also was instructed to keep a food diary for a few weeks. What amazed me almost immediately was that I went for a few days perfectly, feeling so much better in myself and re-energised. I felt cured! There were still a few odd days, but overall I felt fantastic.

A year later, I still feel so much better, but I really have to think about what I’m eating, especially when eating out. All I can say is thank God for Lactofree! Without Lactofree products my diet would be extremely boring and as I can’t stand soya milk, Lactofree is a life saver for enabling me to drink normal milk again. Now that I’ve it nailed on the head I feel fantastic and my life is getting back to some sort of normality.

To everyone out there who is struggling with eating out lactose free, don’t be afraid to ask…most chefs are trained to recognise coeliac and lacto diets and can very easily accommodate so don’t feel embarrassed.
