I'm 21 and have had several allergies, asthma and eczema since I was six months old

After having a violent reaction to eggs as a baby, my mum quickly discovered that I was allergic to most dairy and back then (in the dark ages of 1987!) there weren’t many alternatives available.
As an adult, I know what I can and can’t eat or drink. Unfortunately, I adore cheese, yogurt, cream and milk which cause me to suffer badly with bloating, stomach cramps, diarrhoea and nausea; sometimes severe enough to make me housebound.
So when my mum brought home some Lactofree with the weekly shopping I was skeptical – I’d tried soya products which tasted disgusting but mum had sampled it in Asda and said she couldn’t tell the difference! When I tentatively tried it, I had to agree, it was just as good as normal milk.
I’ve used Lactofree ever since – my stomach has settled down and I’ve even lost a stone in weight, for which I’m very grateful!
