Dr John Mayberry
Consultant Physician and Professor in Gastroenterology
His areas of speciality include intestinal disorders, especially inflammatory bowel disease and most recently, lactose intolerance.
Dr Mayberry qualified in 1976 from the Welsh National School of Medicine and subsequently practiced in South Wales and Nottingham before moving to Leicester.
For the past ten years, he has worked on ethnic aspects of disease and has an interest in issues related to medical litigation.
Sian Porter
MSc(Econ) BSc(HONS) RD
A nutritionist and Registered Dietitian with interest and expertise in holistic approaches to health.
Sian is a Registered Dietitian with a BSc(HONS) in Nutrition and a MSc in Health Economics. Her interest and expertise lie in the importance of environment, lifestyle and dietary influence on health and disease.
She has worked in the field of clinical nutrition and health promotion in both public health medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. More recently, she has acted as communications adviser to the food industry and has a local private practice.
Sian has published and presented nutrition research and contributed to many health, pharmaceutical and consumer publications. She is married with three children and lives in Northamptonshire.
Dr Trisha Macnair
MB ChB
Experienced in a variety of medical specialties and currently working part-time as a Hospital Physician in Medicine for the Elderly in Milford, Surrey.
After qualifying in Medicine at the University of Bristol in 1982, Trisha worked for several years in a variety of medical specialities before rekindling an early interest in writing and radio. For the past 18 years she has worked as a freelance medical journalist and broadcaster, writing, reporting and presenting on a huge range of medical topics.
With an MA in Medical Ethics and Medical Law at King’s College, University of London, she is also an adviser to the Progress Educational Trust, a charity committed to improving public understanding of genetics and assisted reproduction.
Trisha is married to Duncan, a dental surgeon, and they have two young children.
Noel Wickes
Pharmacist
Named as one of the top ten pharmacists in the UK by The Independent.
Noel is the owner of 11 pharmacies across Central Scotland. His pharmacies have won several awards for their innovation and customer service. Noel has served on the Council of Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the Board of the National Pharmaceutical Association.
When he isn’t running his business, Noel works with the pharmaceutical industry as a consultant and does regular journalism work for various pharmacy publications.
Noel is married with two children.
Dr Adam Fox
Consultant & Honorary Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Allergy
Dr Adam Fox graduated from Cambridge University with double honours in Medical and Neurosciences before completing his clinical medical training at University College London. He trained in Paediatrics and then Paediatric Allergy in some of the country’s leading teaching hospitals including Great Ormond St Hospital, St Mary’s and the Royal Free Hospital.
He is now a consultant Paediatric Allergist at Guys’ & St Thomas’ Hospitals, where his clinic was recently visited by the Science and Technology Committee of the House of Lords as an exemplar of good clinical practice whilst preparing for their report on UK Allergy Services. Adam is also an honorary senior lecturer in Paediatric Allergy at King’s College London.
